The Heirloom

The Heirloom is a permanent relic for characters who have completed a full divine set. You forge it once, pick three effects, and then empower it with gold for as long as you like. It is the end-game gold sink with no ceiling.

How you unlock it

Wear a divine piece in all 12 gear slots at once (a two-handed weapon covers the off-hand too). Divine gear can only be worn after your first Ascension, and the pieces come from the divine tier. The moment the set is complete the Heirloom unlocks and Mortek sends you a letter.

The unlock is permanent. If you later take off or sell a divine piece, the Heirloom stays yours.

Forging and empowering

Forging the Heirloom is buying tier 1, there is no separate fee. You choose three different effects from a menu of 8. After that you empower it tier by tier, as many tiers as you can afford, with no limit. Each tier costs 1.25x the one before, starting at 3,800,000 gold before inflation, and the live inflation multiplier scales every tier.

Tier costs at an inflation multiplier of 1.

The effects

Each chosen effect adds a percentage that grows with the square root of your tier: it rises fast at first and then more slowly. The Heirloom adds to your Ascension bonuses, so it counts everywhere those do, including the Arena and PvP.

The bonus each effect gives at a few tiers.

Reforging

You can swap one chosen effect for another without losing your tier. It costs 25% of the gold needed to build your current tier from scratch at the live inflation. Your tier and effects are public on your profile, but the gold you have invested is not.
