This wiki is built directly from the same data that powers Shadowrealm: Age of Darkness, a free, persistent, browser-based dark fantasy RPG. Every price, rank, odds, and reward below is read straight out of the game's own catalogs, not written up separately, so it stays accurate as the game changes. Use it to plan a build, compare gear before you commit gold to it, or just see how deep the systems go before creating a character.

What Shadowrealm is

There is nothing to install and no server wipe: a character keeps every gold piece, every rank, and every scar between sessions, growing over weeks and months of play rather than a single sitting.

The core loop runs through actions: spending Energy, and for the boldest deeds Mana, on a criminal job for a chance at gold, XP, and a material or gear drop. Every action belongs to one of the 4 cities of the realm, and enough XP raises your character rank, the single gate behind almost everything else: tougher cities, rarer gear, bigger casinos, and pricier heists. Beyond the solo grind, Shadowrealm runs as a live economy: gear and materials change hands on open markets, casinos are player-owned businesses that bank the house edge on every bet placed at them, 4-player crews split the payout on a shared heist, and any NPC prisoner sitting in a jail can be broken out by anyone willing to risk the attempt.

Reaching the maximum character rank does not end the game, it opens Ascension: a prestige reset that trades your rank for permanent, stacking power, for players who want to climb the whole ladder again with an edge. See Character Ranks for the full climb, including what Ascension unlocks.
